Happy Birthday... to US!!

I celebrated yet another Birthday this year, along with my sister and my sister-in-law. My sister's Birthday is August 18th, mine is August 20th, and My sister-in-law's is August 22nd! It's really fun that we all have Birthday's so close. My family had a fun get together a little early since it's summer and everyone is busy. We ate dinner, each of us had our own cake, and we all got money! It was lots of fun. I spent my actual Birthday up in Bear Lake with some of our closest friends. (Post coming soon.) I don't think there's a better way to spend your Birthday... at the lake, with your little family, best friends, boating, swimming, "beachin' it", and just hanging out. Here's to 24! It will be a good one :)

P.S. Don't make fun of our cakes. My mom made them... but we ran out of frosting. Nichelle's is completely decorated. Candice's is half way. And mine is less than half way. Does it really matter when they taste great though?? ;)

The Parade of homes, a derby, a wedding, and my thoughts on summer.

That's a long title for this post! First things first. We did the Parade of Homes this summer and it was awesome. We do it every summer but I think this summer was our favorite so far. We saw so many houses that we loved. It's fun to look at houses because even though moving into a house is a couple years down the road for us, it gives us a really good idea as to what we like. I think as far as our first home goes, we found our dream home. And as far as our dream home... I think we found that too. I love it and I'm excited to go next summer.

This last weekend was a busy one. Our group of friends went to the South Jordan derby. We've gone every year for the past 3 years and we always have lots of fun. Hopefully something we can plan on every summer.

My best friend since 4th grade got married. Not only has Chelsea been my best friend since 4th grade but she was the 1st friend I made when my family moved to Sandy from Arizona. We were in the same 4th grade class, and on my first day, which was in the middle of the school year, they weren't prepared for me and didn't have a desk for me to sit at. So my teacher asked little Chelsea if she would so kindly share her desk with me until I received my own. So for about a week we squashed ourselves together at a little desk. Isn't that a cute story about how we became friends? I think so ;) Her wedding was so beautiful and so much fun. I loved it.

And lastly... I'm really looking forward to fall. That is something I never thought I'd say. Summer has been my favorite season since forever, but summer just isn't the same as it once was. Back in middle and high school it was nothing but hanging out with friends, sleepovers every night, and going to the pool all day every day. Now... it's kinda just like normal life, but warmer! I think I see my friends more during the regular school year, because everyone isn't vacationing. Never have sleepovers. And the pool is still awesome, but instead of getting my tan on, I actually get in the pool and play with my children. And we usually last an hour and half before we go home. Aside from those things... it's just chaotic. I'm such an organized person and I really like having order and structure to my life these days. I like to plan on things and if my plans turn out differently I become a tad bit irritated. Summer is fun loving and easy going which is great, but I feel like 3 months is all I can handle. I feel like life is easier when I can just plan on going to school and being at home Mon-Thurs. And I can plan on having a nice break and hopefully see some friends and family over the weekend. I can plan on going to the gym, without getting phone calls from friends to hang out, and then dropping my plans to go to the gym because I'd totally rather hang out with friends. I feel like when I'm more organized and fun, fun, fun, isn't the only thing on everyone's minds I'm more capable of getting things done and accomplishing my goals. It's just nice and orderly. This summer has been so busy, and fun of course, but I'm just ready to bring on the fall.

Celebrating 2 years.

It's fun to look back on the last two years of our marriage and see just how far we've come. We've had lots of good times. And some hard/challenging times. We love doing new things together. We laugh together a lot. And we know how to have a great fight. Through it all, we have made it to 2 years, and we are happy :) For gifts this year Dave was cute and stuck with the theme, cotton. He gave me two pairs of skinny jeans, and I love them. I on the other hand, did something a bit different. I gave Dave this!

This beautiful work of art is hanging in our living room now. I love it, love it, love it. I stare at it all day long. Dave loves it too :)

For our anniversary I really wanted to do something we don't do on a regular basis. Both our parents are awesome and helped us out so we could go out and celebrate.

First, we went to a really nice dinner at Fleming's.

After dinner Dave had his last softball game of the summer, so we had to go. And then we spent the night child-free, which is always nice. And then... we woke up early in the morning to go horseback riding! It was so much fun. I'm so glad we took the time to go out and do some really nice, fun things together.

This was my horse... Navajo.

And Dave's horse... Hammer.

Here's to 2 years! More good times, more challenges, more laughs, more children, and many more years of marriage to come!

P.S. The best thing about having a night away from your children... is coming back home to them! Dang we missed our babies! They are the best!

WARNING: This post is x-rated.

Ok, not really. But maybe a little escandaloso?? We had yet another Bachelorette party this weekend. Some of our closest friends made our way up to Ogden to take a pole dancing class at a studio called French Kiss Dance. It was beyond hilarious. And I'm pretty sure we all have a new found respect for strippers. Seriously. We twirled our little hearts out and now we've got the bruises and sore bodies to show for it. We all left the class that night and couldn't stop talking about how much fun we had. Getting a punch card to a studio in the near future so we can perfect our pole skills has a nice possibility of happening. All you girls go out and do it! It's so much fun.

Oh... and did I mention that we learned how to give lap dances? And we had to practice on each other? What a fun and hilarious night.

These two...

... are 14 months old now. It really is unbelieveable how quickly they grow up. Here are some fun things about Trey and Easton.

  • They are both walking
  • They love to be chased.
  • Dave has taught them how to give "zerberts." I don't know what everyone else calls them. Maybe they are more commonly known as "raspberries?" Any time I am laying on the floor now they come over to me and lift up my shirt and give me a nice big raspberry. Pretty funny.
  • They both love to give hugs and kisses.
  • They are not fond of sharing.
  • I'd prefer to have Trey steal toys from Easton, because Easton is a little more mellow and most often doesn't mind, and will find something else to play with.
  • Trey loves to crawl into things and just sit in them. I found him in a large pot in our kitchen the other day.
  • They wave "hi" and "goodbye." And they both have completely different waves. So cute.
  • Temper tantrums have begun, mostly with Easton.
  • They take one nap a day now.
  • They dance to music.
  • They love to open and close doors, drawers, basically anthing that will open and close.
  • They hang out in their cribs when they wake up from naps and just laugh and laugh with each other. I never know what's so funny because as soon as I walk in the room they stop.
  • They like to put mom and dad's shoes on.
  • And they are just the sweetest little babies ever. Here's to 14 months! :)
