Art Festival

The weather lately has been driving me insane. I love summer so much and I feel like a damper has been put on it with all this rain! Really... if you think about it, we've been cheated out of close to a full month of summer! Oh well... Saturday was super fun. The sun was FINALLY out so Dave and I ate breakfast @ The Original Pancake house... and we were inspired to do so thanks to Sarah. It was delicious. Then we made our way to the Farmer's Market and looked around for a bit. After that we went swimming where we were joined by Jessie and Brinly. Dave had work that night so Brinly, Jessie, and I made our way to the Art Festival later on! It's pretty cool. We looked at art, each found the creative writer within, (especially Jessie...) and ate some super yummy food :) I love hanging out with the girls... especialy these two. They are great. It's so fun to spend a whole day with them just talking and hanging out!

A LONG anticipated day!!!

Well, for those of you who know Dave, you know he's had braces for over 2 years now! Ever since we've been together he has had braces. I remember when we first started dating everyone would ask me if it was weird to kiss someone with braces. So for all those inquiring minds wanting to know... it is not. There is no difference what-so-ever. Dave and I go to the gym pretty much every morning... and this Tuesday he told me he couldn't go because he "had to help his sister with some stuff." Little did I know he was really going to the orthodontist to have a retainer fit. Then THIS morning... he got lucky that I am lazy and didn't want to wake up early to go work out! He didn't have to come up with another cover up story for not being able to go to the gym!!! So after his appointment, he surprised me at my work today... to show me THIS......
TA DA!!!!! Doesn't he look so HANDSOME!?! I love it! And I love it even more just because I know how long he has wanted these braces off and how happy he is that they finally are!!! :) :)

One of my many loves...

Well, first off, I feel like I blog 10x more than anyone else. I promise it's pretty much cuz of boredom @ work. I really do have a life, and don't just sit at a computer to blog all day long. So if my avid blogging seems a bit crazy to you... I apologize!

Anyway... I had this thought today... I am SO thankful that I have a love for reading. I have no idea where it came from, or how I developed it. Regardless,I am thankful! I know there are a ton of people out there who share my same interest in reading, but there are also many who do not. Then there are those who DO like to read, they for some reason just don't. Since I can remember I have read, read, read, READ!!! I honestly wonder how many books I have read in my lifetime! There have been points in my life where I have been busy, therefore, not had the time to read and I can honestly say... when that happens, the fact that I am not reading a book starts to drive me crazy! I HAVE to pick up a book!

This month I have finished two books! Both of which are great and I would highly recommend! The first....
And the second...

And I just started...

I have only read a little so far but can already tell this is going to be a great one! I LOVE reading and seriously think everyone should do it!

La Caille

For those of you who have never been to a wedding/reception at La Caille, I highly recommend going if you ever get the invite!!! It is quite the event to see!!! Dave has a friend who got married last weekend and was nice enough to send us an invite. It is hands down the most extravagant wedding I have ever been to! We were lucky enough to be seated next to a way cute couple at dinner. Through talking with them we found out we have a ton of crazy connections through people! It really is such a small world!!!

We walk on the wild side...

Friday night, Dave and I decided to spray paint suicide rock. Nothing was really going on, so we made our way to Wal-mart to purchase our spray paint, and from there we went to suicide rock. It was a fun time... although as we were right on top of the rock, doing our thing, it started to rain on us! And it wasn't a light rain. From there, lightning started coming down all around us! It was insane! Dave finally made us leave, in worries that I might slip on the wet rocks and fall to my death, or... that one of us would get struck by lightning! We made our way down, and thank goodness the rain let up. But the lightning definitely didn't!!! It was super crazy and we left that night, feeling quite accomplished and ADVENTUROUS! :)

Weekend @ Gary's Bear Lake house!

Last weekend a group of us headed up to Garrett's Bear Lake house. Even though the weather forecast wasn't great we figured it would be fun being up there anyway! And we were right! Friday, Dave and I headed up. We got his boat to bring back down... and hung out at his Grandpa's condo for a bit, until the rest of our group got up there. We met up with everyone later and followed them to Gary's house. It was pretty late so we hung out for a bit and called it a night. On Saturday we took Gary's boat out. At this point it was really cold!!! We pretty much hung out on the boat... all the boys were daring enough to jump in the water, but it was so cold, as soon as they were in they were out. We finally made our way back in and went back to Dave's Grandpa's condo to hot tub and swim at the pool. The sun finally came out and it turned out to be a great day! We played catch, fly's up, and who knows what else on the vast lawn! We got yummy shakes at La Bou's (is that how you spell it???) and then took the boat out again! This time... with the sun out it was a bit warmer! So Dave, Jessie, and myself put on our wet suits and actually got in to wakeboard and/or ski!! It really was way fun. The highlight of the trip was definitely after we got done boating. Gary's house is right on the lake so they have 4-wheelers to take everyone from the beach back to the house. We had left one 4-wheeler down there and had to go get it as soon as we had the boat back in the garage. So Dustee, Jessie, and I drove a 4-wheeler down. Upon getting there, we couldn't find the second 4-wheelers key!! So Jessie and I hung out while Dustee drove back to the house to see if someone had it. She brought Dave back with her and of course, the key was right there the whole time. So Jessie and I hopped on to take it back! Well, I was driving and figured we should play on the 4-wheeler a bit. So Jessie and I were cruisin' around... there were some small puddles here and there and Jessie kept screaming... "Drive through that puddle! Drive through that one!" So I did... and it was great fun. We finally turned around to head back and there was ONE more puddle that had to be driven through. As we drove into this puddle I realized... This is like 4 ft. deep!!!!! So I turned the 4-wheeler but it was too late!! We were stuck in this POND!!! So we got off and Jessie pulled while I pushed in water up to my knees! Yeah... it didn't work. So finally Garrett and Dustee came down with a 4-wheeler to help us out. They pulled us out and we were good to go! We got back on, this time Jessie driving, and made our way... RIGHT BACK INTO THE POND!!!! Jessie put the 4-wheeler in reverse instead of drive!! So of course, instead of pulling forward, when she hit the gas, we went backwards! What's great is she didn't do this quickly. We had enough time for me to yell... "Jessie! Jessie! We're going back!" But for some reason she is slow... and didn't respond quickly enough. Well, we sure did get a good laugh out of it! So once again, Garrett pulled us out and this time Jessie actually drove forward!!! I thought we'd head up to the house, but Jessie hadn't had enough fun yet, so we continued to plow through puddles. Garrett and Dustee made their way back, and Jessie finally decided we should go back, she didn't think they would come save us again if we were to get stuck once more. But of course... we couldn't head back without the grand finale!!! Jessie drove us through one more puddle and it was HUGE!!! As we drove through this thing, water came up all around us, and DRENCHED us!!! As soon as we were out Jessie stopped and we laughed our heads off. It was hilarious. After our adventure we went to dinner... came back and watched a movie. Sunday we hung out a bit and headed home! What a fun weekend! :)

She's a big girl now!!!

My little sister Candice graduated from Hillcrest last Thursday! How exciting... she's not sure where she's going to further her education. Either the U of U or Dixie... I guess we'll see how everything pans out. Either way she will have so much fun going to college! Congrats! :)

Some days.... you just gotta take a break!!!

Well, things at work have been a bit crazy this last week or so, to say the least! I got sick of it... so Tuesday night I said to Dave, "Do you have work tomorrow?" And he said, "Nope." And I said, "GOOD! Cuz I'm taking the day off tomorrow!" So.... we slept in, and then made our way to Lagoon! We got season passes this year which is just great because at the rate a single day pass is going for these days, you can get a season pass and go just TWICE and it's paid for! And it includes Frightmares. Good for us! I haven't been to Lagoon in a long time so it was way fun being there! :)
These guys were HILARIOUS!!! Seriously... they squashed themselves into this log. Had to have been over a TON in that thing. Their splash was HUGE and they  went around twice!!!
