Hello there.

Have we been busy, or what?!? Sometimes finding a minute to catch up on blogging, or even
finding the desire escapes me. For my personal sake, I love keeping up on blogging. But sometimes I just can't bring myself to do it. This is my attempt to bring us back to current.

Dave and I spent a lovely Saturday snowboarding at Solitude. It was my first time going in FOUR years! I felt like I had to learn all over again. It was a little rough at first, but I got the hang of it and we had a great time. Grateful for Dave's patience that day.

We celebrated tons of March birthdays. The most memorable being my nephew Dylan's. He had a minecraft birthday party and everyone was given shirts! These little cousins, such pals :)

Dave and I went to an anti gravity yoga class for the first time and it was so much fun.

Over spring break we took a vacation to Moab and we ran in the Canyonlands half marathon. It was an awesome half marathon. We had a hard time training for this one so we both ran it much slower than our first half. Regardless, it was still lots of fun.We ventured into Arches National Park quite a bit, ate out, and walked main street.

With my best friend Jessie before our race!
How cute are Chelsea and Lee? They came with us and watched the boys while we ran. To our surprise Trey and Easton had a sign for us when we finished!
Enjoying a campfire, tinfoil dinners, and s'mores!
What's Moab without a jumping pic???

After being blonde as blonde can be I decided to tone it down a bit and do a melt. Being blonde was fun but it was time for a change.

Easter was too much fun. We went to the Easter egg hunt at Wheeler Farm and it was so cute. We had another Easter egg hunt afterwards with the Dent family. And a nice Easter dinner with the Dekeyzer family. Trey and Easton received clothes, kites, bubbles, stickers, and yes... even some candy.
Awesome picture, right? My sister caught it at the perfect moment.
Trading in our eggs for an Easter bucket!

Dave celebrated his 28th Birthday. The celebration went on forever. We enjoyed a night out to sushi and a movie with friends. A HUGE Birthday party with all of our friends. And a really nice dinner with Dave's family at Tuscany.
Lots of great things have been going on and we've been having lots of fun! My YTT program is almost over and I'm kinda crazy and randomly decided to become a certified indoor cycle instructor as well. As soon as I'm finished with yoga I will jump into that, and then I will hopefully find some classes to instruct! I'm excited/nervous, but I'm mostly excited. Dave and I will be walking for graduation soon and I'm very excited about that. And we are looking forward to consistently warm weather!! Summer, get here soon! There's lots more fun to be had :)

February, in review

Aside from Dave loving his new job, my YTT program, and Trey and Easton playing with cousins all the time, February was a good month...

My dad and his girlfriend are moving to Mexico to pursue a business venture. My dad came to town to say goodbye before they leave. It was nice to spend time with him for a few days. Best of luck on your crazy adventure!

We took Trey and Easton to the Aquarium.

We also took the boys to the daycare at Gold's gym for the first time. I'm not a fan, nor am I impressed. BUT it's so much more convenient to take them there so Dave and I can workout together and be done in an hour and a half as opposed to taking turns, therefore, taking up 3 hours of our day. Maybe, hopefully, it will grow on me.

We enjoyed a fun Valentine's day.

I'm reading several books, as always. This months book for book club was The Casual Vacancy, by J.K. Rowling. It's a slow read but I'm chugging along.

Dave bought me a new ipod touch and I love it. It's kinda a belated Christmas present. I really just wanted it for Instagram. Turns out, there's so many way cool things to do with it! ;)

And now... March is here and I'm so happy. It feels like the turning point for winter. Plus, we have a few fun things planned :) Here's to another month!

In the name of love...

...celebrate!! And that's just what we did. I love Valentine's Day. A simple yet fun holiday. The perfect excuse to make time to go out on a date, which with kids, is far and few these days. So, for Valentine's this year Trey and Easton made their Grandma Lori the cutest Valentine gifts, as well as a yummy treat via Pinterest, of course.

Trey and Easton sported Valentine attire from Old Navy, the perfect place to get fun shirts for holidays. And they were spoiled with lots of fun gifts... books, bouncy balls, sweaters, balloons, and a teensy bit of candy.

Dave and I spent Valentine's evening indulging in chocolate turtles and chocolate covered strawberries. Gifts were also exchanged, of course.

The following Friday we were able to go out on a date with friends. I think this was our fifth year going out with friends for Valentine's and as always, it was a great time. We ate at the California Pizza Kitchen. And then... we played two games of laser tag. It was awesome. None of us had been to play laser tag in forever and everyone agreed, it was so much fun. Valentine's was a success this year!

January, in review

January has been such a great and busy month for us! Here's what's been going on with the Dent family...

We were all sick forever. Yuck.

I started my yoga teacher training and I love it. It has been so much fun to learn more about yoga and I'm so excited that at the end of it all I will be a registered yoga teacher!

For my YTT program I am required to teach 10 yoga classes as a service. I'm teaching at a middle school where my friend is the gym/health teacher. I taught my first class and middle school students are hilarious. It will be a challenge, but lots of fun.

Dave interviewed for a job in December. He was not hired, BUT, he was liked so much that a PRN position was created especially for him. PRN, meaning, as needed. At first it was going to be part time so he was still planning on working at his previous job. Then we got even more great news! He is now PRN for multiple jobs! So he officially quit his job. He started training for his position as an exercise specialist and we are just so excited that his foot is in the door.

We've been adjusting to new schedules. Since we've been married Dave has worked part time. Now that he's working full time, I am figuring things out. It's quite the change but having Dave home for dinner every night is amazing. He even has weekends off! Since I've known Dave he has worked weekends, so I'm very happy about that :)

Trey and Easton played with all their cousins lots and lots. (My siblings and in-laws do trading sessions a lot so we can have sitters without having to pay. It's the best way to do it. I'm glad we do because Trey and Easton see their cousins so much.) We took a fun trip to the Aquarium. Played in the snow lots. And did free crafts at the Learning Center.

I read a book that I now think is one of my favorites. It's called These is my words, and it's amazing. It was January's book club pick. A book I don't think I would have come upon otherwise, and that's why I love book club so much.

Dave cut Trey and Easton's bangs. I think he learned his lesson and won't be doing that again. I love Trey and Easton with long hair, and yes, I hope it only grows longer and longer.

Dave and I realized that we hadn't been out on a date in several months, sad. So we made it a point to get out a little bit. We saw a couple of movies, went to dinner and bowling with friends, and got some indoor rock climbing in.

Aside from getting out a bit, we are pretty much planted on our couch every evening watching our favorite TV shows. The Biggest Loser, The Bachelor, New Girl, and Modern family. Thankfully we only have a few, but we have become obsessed with Breaking Bad and it's on Netflix. That's a problem my friends. We have spent too many nights staying up way too late because we just can't stop watching it. It's so intense and I never thought I would suggest such a show to anyone, but seriously. Watch it.

I think it's safe to say that January has been a successful month for us! We definitely started the year off right. It makes me excited for the many great things to come. Also, I'm gradually becoming worse and worse at taking pictures, hence, my pictureless post! :)

SNOW!

One of the great things about having kids is getting to experience the many firsts with them. Recently, Trey and Easton have experienced a couple of firsts, all thanks to the snow. They simply played in the snow for the first time. And we took them sledding for the first time. Success all around! They love the snow, what kids don't though, right? Sledding was so much fun, because their different personalities came out a lot. Trey is daring and wild... as he went down the hill with Dad he laughed and laughed and yelled all the way down. Easton was sledding with me, and he on the other hand, screamed in terror and was on the verge of tears. When we got to the bottom he said, "We made it mama!" He's quite cautious sometimes.

Easton went sledding once, then he made it a point to tell us multiple times, "I'm all done." So we sat together and took pictures :)

Winter is hard with little ones. It's been so cold lately I feel like all we do is stay inside. I'm glad we've made it a point to get out a few times and enjoy the snow. I've forgotten just how much fun it is :)

The New Year!

This year we brought in the new year sick. Trey, Easton and I had colds :( Sickness has unfortunately lingered in our home for quite some time now and we are all ready to return to a somewhat normal schedule, as opposed to sitting at home all day watching Toy Story over, and over, and over...

We attempted to make New Year's Eve a special occasion by ordering take-out from Tsunami and renting a couple of movies. Sushi was delicious but our movie was interrupted by lots of coughing from little ones. So much so, that by the time our two hour movie had taken us four hours to not even quite finish, we gave up and went to bed. No staying up until midnight for us!!

It was kind of odd spending New Year's Eve this way. It is the first year we haven't been out with friends. Even so, I am very excited for a new year. 2012 was good to us and I'm sure 2013 will bring many great things.

Highlights from 2012
Dave and I ran our first half marathon together
Family vacation to California
Weekend in Moab with friends
Trey and Easton turned 2
I graduated in August
We leased a brand new Toyota Sienna! (I don't care what you think, vans are cool)
Dave graduated in December

Just a few things we are looking forward to in 2013
We will run our second half marathon together in March, in the Canyonlands half marathon
We are hopeful that Dave will come upon a new job
I will become a registered yoga instructor

Hope everyone had a great year in 2012 and that you are all excited for 2013!
