ELOPEMENT!!!!

Where to start....? Well, Dave and I attended my brother's wedding in May (of course.) Being there for everything I couldn't help but think... this is so much TIME, EFFORT, STRESS, etc... to go into ONE day! At my brother's rehearsal dinner we happened to sit with my mom's friend Mary Kay and her husband! Through talking with them, we found out they had eloped when they got married! They told us their story and it sounded so wonderful! For awhile... Dave and I joked about how we would elope. Well, our joking around finally turned into a reality! We decided we would go for it! We booked hotels, got a photographer, contacted a Bishop from San Diego... everything! 2 days before we left Dave broke the big news to his parents and grandparents! We were pleasantly surprised with the reactions! Everyone was very supportive. The day we left I actually gave a card with a poem in it to my little sister, to give to my mom after we left! After a bit of a shock... my mom and sister flew down to San Diego so they could be there. Dave's brother and sister-in-law came as well! It was so super fun to just run off! :) It was so relaxing and stress free... I seriously don't think I would ever do it a different way! Our small group was so fun! This blog might go on forever.... so I will just cover the highlights!!!

  • Left Wednesday, drove to St. George and stayed the night with Dave's Aunt and Uncle.
  • Thursday, we made our way to San Diego. And of course, stopped to ride the Desperado on the way :)
  • We got in to San Diego, checked into our hotel, and immediately left to go meet with the Bishop who was going marry us! Then we went out to eat!
  • Friday, we ate breakfast @ a cute place right in the Marina. We went to La Jolla beach and surfed for 2 hours! Neither of us got up... and we both got FRIED!!! :(
  • We then went to get our Marriage License! Then we ate @ Anthony's!
  • We met up with our families who were there that night and ate @ Buon Apetito in Little Italy!
  • Saturday, we went to the farmers market in Little Italy. And then ate breakfast!
  • From there, we ran around and got some last minute things at the store so we could get ready!
  • My mom and sister came to our hotel to help me do my hair. They even bought cute flowers and made me a boquet!
  • We headed to Coronado Beach! Picked out our spot. Changed. And sealed the deal!!!!!
  • Took lots of AWESOME pictures on the beach!!
  • Had a lovely dinner after the ceremony with our family that came!
  • Sunday, we headed to Vegas. We hit up the shark reef @ the Mandalay Bay! And then ate at the buffet!
  • We then spent the night in a suite @ the Venetian!
  • And we headed home Monday!!!!

It was oooooohhhhhh so much fun! I can't believe I'm married now! It's one of those surreal things! We had a blast! We are so thankful for our family that came down on a whims notice! And for all the love and support from everyone! It's seriously been so great! I'll post pictures soon! :)

Yes. We ran away and got married :)

Our weekend...

never lasts long enough!!! Friday we went to Cafe Rio for dinner and the park with Dave's family. Later that night we headed out to Josh and Mandy's for some swimming and fireworks for the 24th. Saturday Dave and I went on a hike! And then we went to Jensen and Katie's house to swim! It was super fun watching the boys play an intense game of basketball in the pool, while chatting with Katie and Janzyn in the hot tub :) Sunday started off not so great... I couldn't find my ENGAGEMENT ring! Ah! Can you imagine my terror. Dave and I looked for it for a half hour... maybe longer! I was stressing out so bad... and we finally found it... in my underwear drawer! It had just fallen off my dresser! WHEW! What a relief! And Sunday... was just a typical Sunday... nice and relaxing :) I LOVE the weekends! And wish they came to stay just a little longer. Sadly, the only thing I took pictures of was our hike... enjoy!
Of course he just had to get in...
Oops... look what got soaking wet!

Just an update...

I think this is the longest I've gone without blogging... I'm such a loser! Anyway... Dave and I were on vacation for the last week. We spent the weekend in Bear Lake with his family... and then we headed up to the Snake river from there for a river rafting trip! It was a super fun vacation, although extremely tiring! I had so much fun boating, wakeboarding, getting up on a slolemn ski for my first time, (Dave was so proud) renting a 6 person bike, playing catch, wave running, then rafting the river, rafting the river, and rafting the river some more!!! As great as it was, it's nice to be home and relax a little bit!!!!

Probably the coolest water skiing picture EVER!!!
We just drove this thing down 2 hills!!! One of which was dirt! Scary!
Dave's cute condos @ Ideal Beach
Everyone on the river rafting trip!

Since being back we've just been hanging out. Friday night Dave and I went on a little group date with lovely Ashley and her husband Chase. Along with Adam and his wife Erin. We just went to dinner but it was way fun. We listened to these boys tell HILARIOUS mission stories and laughed our heads off. I wish I had taken pictures that night! :( We also saw The Fray in concert Saturday night. And Sunday we helped my brother and Nichelle move into their new place! They are having a home built in Eagle Mountain! It will be done in about 5 months... so they are in a rental for now! Super exciting!!!

@ The Fray
Aaron and Nichelle... the happy couple on the land where their new home is being built!
Their cute rental house for now!
I made Dave take pictures of me dancing... I think the heat was getting to me...
And my mom... she felt the need to join in and have pictures taken of her too... this is us leaping :) haha. Love my mom.

Happy 4th!!!

I hope everyones 4th of July was great! This year, Dave and I went to Riverton Park with Josh and Mandy's family. We were also joined by Dustee and Andy. There was a fair going on so we rode rides, hung out, and watched awesome fireworks. I simply
